Brittany is a 23 year old charismatic, fun-loving and passionate person born in the cultural heartbeat of Kingston and raised in the HOT, HOT parish of Clarendon. She is molded from a melting pot of ethnicities which range from East Indian, Chinese, African & Scottish origin. Like the majestic Blue Mountains, Brittany’s personality is bold; always making a statement while maintaining a cool, calm and collected persona. She is a past student of The Immaculate Conception High School and a graduate of Loyola University of Maryland in the United States, where she earned her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and Special Education. At Loyola, Brittany was a Student Ambassador and Leadership Coordinator of the Student Leadership Corps. She spent an exciting 2010 in South East Asia teaching Social Studies. Since her return home to Jamaica she has become heavily involved with the Violence Prevention Alliance of Jamaica and serves as a board member. Brittany has a keen interest in using education as an avenue against violence in under-developed communities in Jamaica. This passion has inspired her platform, “Preventing Violence through Education & Leadership”. She is currently the manager of the Cecil Boswell Facey Foundation which provides opportunities in Jamaica for projects in Education, The Arts and The Environment. She is pursuing her master’s degree in International & Global Education. Her other interests include reading, listening to all genres of music and traveling. On her most recent exploit she lived in Thailand, trekked through Vietnam and Cambodia, and vacationed in Bali, Indonesia. Brittany is a believer in Jesus Christ and tries to live her life following Christian principles. With the support of her family, friends and fans she plans to conquer whatever is ahead with full force.
